Things to do in Long Eaton
Long Eaton might be a small town but there is plenty to keep you entertained if you choose to visit with CrossCountry.
The River Trent flows past Long Eaton to the south, which makes this an ideal place to indulge in all sorts of water sports. Spring Lakes on Pasture Lane offers a wide range of activities, including open-water swimming, kayaking and wakeboarding; you can even fish and camp here.
A short distance upriver is the Attenborough Nature Reserve. Built on old flooded gravel pits, this wheelchair-friendly attraction provides a relaxing day out away from the noise and traffic of the town. On the other hand, if noise is what you are looking for, then you should plan your visit around the Long Eaton Carnival which takes place every summer. The carnival includes floats, a parade and a wide variety of entertainment; it has been running since 1931 and is organised entirely by volunteers.
If you prefer a more leisurely visit, the Duchess Theatre in the Chatsworth Art Centre hosts a variety of shows throughout the year. West Park, which is only two streets away from the theatre, provides green open spaces and walks.
To keep your younger children entertained check out Cyril’s Fun House. It has soft play areas, princess makeovers, a toy store and more all under one roof.
When it’s time to recharge, why not try one of the many cafés and restaurants Long Eaton has to offer. You will find all sorts of cuisine here, from classic British pub food to delicious flavours from around the world.
Long Eaton offers all of this plus a whole lot more so book your visit today with one of CrossCountry’s ticket options, and see what else there is to discover.
