We’re proud to share that CrossCountry has generated an estimated £62.5 million in Social Value in 2024–25. Our Social Value report quantifies the positive change we effect on wider society, whether that be the communities we serve, CrossCountry colleagues, or the customers who take us on their journey.
Our Social Value report uses the Rail Social Value Tool, based on Greenbook methodology to quantify our impact across social, environmental, and economic topics. Using 34 monetised metrics, we can quantify our positive contribution to our people, places and planet.
From over 350 apprenticeships being undertaken by our colleagues, to leading the way on accessibility with our Autism Route Maps and Access for All initiatives, we're making rail travel better for everyone.
In 2024 alone, we:
- Delivered £26 million in Social Value through employment, including £76,603 from hiring graduates
- Produced £4.1M though our apprenticeship programmes
- Generated £44M through responsible supply chain decisions
- Planted 1,600 trees planted and restored 250 sqm of oyster reef
Jessica Lockwood – Environment and Sustainability Manager at CrossCountry said “At CrossCountry, we understand that sustainability isn't just about reducing emissions, it's about creating lasting positive change for the communities we serve. From restoring native biodiversity to developing our talent programmes, our goal is to ensure every journey leaves lasting Social Value. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in 2024, and we’re looking forward to sharing more later this year”
At CrossCountry, we’re not just running trains — we’re reducing emissions, building inclusive communities, and helping people thrive.
We don’t just stop here.
