CrossCountry appoints Harj Singh as Finance Director

Long-distance train operator CrossCountry has today announced the appointment of Harj Singh as Finance Director.

Long-distance train operator CrossCountry has today announced the appointment of Harj Singh as Finance Director.
Harj is ACCA qualified and started his career at National Express Group, going on to serve as Managing Director for a residential developer. Before joining CrossCountry in an interim role, Harj worked on acquisitions of rail contracts and gained significant experience of working with government bodies, including Transport for Wales and Homes England.
Following a secondment as interim Finance Director, Harj joins CrossCountry’s senior team to provide continued financial leadership and stability as the business moves towards its new National Rail contract announced last month. 
On his appointment, Harj said: “This is an exciting opportunity to further build on our work at CrossCountry to date. I am looking forward to bringing industry experience and insights to the table as CrossCountry strives to deliver the best possible offering for both current and future customers.”
Tom Joyner, Managing Director at CrossCountry, added: “I know that Harj’s proven track-record of financial management in the industry, along with exceptional stakeholder management skills, will be a real asset to CrossCountry as we continue to strive for financial excellence and reinforce our position as long-distance operator of choice.” 
Harj joins the business in a permanent position from Thursday 5 October.
