There will be significant disruption across the rail network in the first week of February due to planned industrial action by The Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) and drivers represented by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT).
As a result, CrossCountry will not run any services on 1 and 3 February with passengers being urged to make alternative travel arrangements. The company will run a normal service on the days around the planned industrial action.
Tom Joyner, Managing Director at CrossCountry said: “We are saddened that industrial action continues to cause disruption on our network and would like to express our apologies to our passengers who will be affected. We are committed to finding a resolution so that we can ensure the railway is sustainable, now and in the future, and hope we can reach an agreement soon. We urge passengers to make alternative travel arrangements on strike days, and to check our website for the most up to date information around disruption, and plan ahead.”

Long-distance train operator CrossCountry has announced adjustments to its timetable from 14 December, as part of the rail industry’s twice-yearly timetable review.

- CrossCountry will operate a reduced timetable over the Bank Holiday weekend – with no services on Saturday 23 August - due to industrial action by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT)
- Services on Sunday 24 August are also likely to be subject to cancellations across all CrossCountry routes
- Passengers are advised not to travel on Saturday 23 August and to travel on either side of the Bank Holiday weekend, or claim a full refund
