CrossCountry passengers are being advised to make alternative travel arrangements on Saturday 26 November following the confirmation of planned strike action by The Association of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF).
CrossCountry will not be able to operate any services as a result of the industrial action, which will cause significant disruption for passengers. Passengers are being urged to make alternative travel arrangements and to check the CrossCountry website for the latest updates.
Tom Joyner, Managing Director at CrossCountry said: “We would like to convey our sincerest apologies to our passengers for the undoubted disruption this latest strike will cause. We remain hopeful that through careful discussions and compromises on both sides with our union counterparts, we will be able to agree the reforms necessary to both afford a fair pay deal, and secure a sustainable future for the railway that is currently taking more than its fair share from the taxpayer.”

Long-distance train operator CrossCountry has announced adjustments to its timetable from 14 December, as part of the rail industry’s twice-yearly timetable review.

- Photorealism, painterly illustration and graphics combine to depict the textile carts that powered Leeds’ rise to a northern powerhouse, to CrossCountry trains linking the city’s people and culture to the rest of UK today
- CrossCountry will operate a reduced timetable over the Bank Holiday weekend – with no services on Saturday 23 August - due to industrial action by the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT)
- Services on Sunday 24 August are also likely to be subject to cancellations across all CrossCountry routes
- Passengers are advised not to travel on Saturday 23 August and to travel on either side of the Bank Holiday weekend, or claim a full refund
